Powder is very close to inking a tour deal that will take them Back to the UK, Germany, Asia, and others. Maybe even down under.

Not sure what “very close” means at this time, but someone on the inside (NOT Powder) is telling me some very interesting things. Let’s see if this spook is for real or just jerking us around.

In the meantime, go to EVERY SINGLE POWER SHOW YOU CAN.

Do YOU want to be part of it??? Too many people have loved Powder for them to remain unknown for much longer. Ninette is too beautiful, too talented, too sexy to be a local phenom. She is the next big thing and she is the next Rock and Roll diva. Who is out there to rival her? Madonna? Pink? Celine??? Come’on now. Ninette Ninette Ninette!!!

Are you man enough? Are you woman enough? Are you Powder enough to make the trip? Hell, people from Canada drive down to see Powder. People from LA fly in to experience Powder in this unique setting. You can tell your grandkids about how you saw Powder in Chicago, LIVE, and up close. Next year they may not be able to do this. Next year they may be filling STADIUMS! Soccer riots will be TAME compared to what the Powder Army can do when Powder is in town! Not in violence but in LOVE! Mama won’t have it any other way.

Get there. I’ll tell you how. Pledge yourself, it is easy. Life is too short to not make a comitment to something beyond yourself. Powder is that comitment. Ninette is that leader. She is a woman’s woman. She is the sex symbol that Marylin Monroe dreamt she was going to be. If you haven’t dreamt about Ninette then you aren’t ALIVE!

I kind of had that vibe in Chicago last year that I would not see Allan this time around.  Vee wasn’t here long enough to start picking up on his vibes but I am sorry to see him gone as well.

Wow.  Allan was part of the original Powder way back in 2001. He was a fun guy, always active, always moving, even when sitting down.  Mr. Energy he was, and you had be when you were the bass player for a band like Powder.  Usually a bass player keeps things together and moving along in a song, but doesn’t really standout in the music.  Not Allan Hearn.

Standout is his middle name.

The bass not only plays an active part in Powder it can sometimes feel like the melody it is so powerful and smooth, and his play was all that, and more.  The fans will miss you.

Holbrook Street Festival is August 5th, 2006, can Halstead be far behind (usually the next day)?

Holbrook is a GREAT show and I bet one that you have never experienced before. Food, beverage (adult and soft drinks), local acts all day long, food, motorcycle cruise, food.  AND, if you are lucky you can get a chance to talk with Phil and Ninette BEFORE the show and offer them an ear of corn or share a picnic table with Tony TV and the Powder Army from LA.

A bunch of us get a hotel on Halstead and a rental car and make a weekend of it.  Don’t miss this yearly pilgrimage to Chicago to see Powder!  Live!  Up close!  Watch here for more on hotels and arrival dates.

With all of the speculation on Allan and Vee, the announcement of the Chicago gig dates is a shot of much needed reassurance.

Chicago is as far east as Powder gets during the year, unless you want to count the UK or Germany or Japan.  July 9th is the only confirmed date on the site but is this an EXTRA Chicago gig?

Market Days and Hollbrook are usually in early August, this date is early July.  A new Chicago gig for the band?  There are lots of possibilities but nothing I can nail down from the web just yet.  Keep watching everyone.

I immediately went into snoop mode and contacted all my Powder insiders to find out what is going on.  Nothing yet, so until we get an official note from Ninette I would assume that this is just an official “Thanks” for all the hard work over the last few very busy months.

Props out to Tony TV, this guy stands head and shoulders above the rest, even without the stilts. I have spent some time with Tony TV in Chicago and watched him prepare for a show, rather, prepare THE show. From set design to safety inspector to public relations and all that while getting pumped to perform, Tony can do it all because he IS doing it all. I got to ask him one question while he was setting up for the Halsted Days performance 2005, “What will you like most about finally hitting ‘the big time’?”

Ninette, is that how you ride a motorcycle?

Hey everyone, I was thinking about which tidbit I would pass along first and came up with a small bit of information that is out there but has to be searched for in order to find. Powder has had, as have many many many rock and roll bands, several drummers. In fact, Powder is on their 4th drummer since 2001. My challenge to you is to name all 4 of them. The last couple are easy since it has been a relativly recent change of guard. Even some of the Powder Faithful may not know all 4.

I am not going to name them, but let it up to you readers to find them, and have the satisfaction of a search well done. You can, of course, email me with threats and bribes (bribes work MUCH better), and see if you can find my price. It used to be a pizza and 2 liter of Coke.
