Need Free Music, Mp3, mixer program like Virtual DJ.?

I need to find a program such as downloading certain DJ equiptment. I want something that can create MP3 and melt. I tried Virtual DJ and I loved it. Unfortuatly HVE me money for the program itself. I tested 30 days and was so happy. The problem is that it is a program of $ 300. Is there any free software is about the same and you can mix songs and record them. I tried some that were supposed to be comparable Virtual DJ, but not let me put my creations. Any help is appreciated. Links would be nice too.
